Waiting for that second call.....

Our dossier was registered with the Ministry of Education in mid-June, 2007. We received a much anticipated call one week ago today, asking if we would be willing to make three trips to Almaty. Of course we said yes! Jeff Morris informed us that Kazakhstan typically reviews dossiers on Thursdays and Fridays, and extends invitations to travel on Mondays. Today is Monday, and.......no phone call :-(

We know that delays happen and patience is to be expected, so we're not getting our hopes up until we are actually on the plane. We've selected some names, and have yet to decide on one. Of course, we're open to suggestions! We will definitely keep the baby's name; it will be either his first or middle name.

When we do travel, we will be in Almaty for approximately three weeks. We will miss Karis terribly. We return to the U.S. and then wait another six weeks. We'll miss the baby terribly. We make our second trip (approximately 5 days) to go to court. We return after two more weeks to pick up the baby. We're considering taking Karis on the second trip, and then staying until we bring the baby home. It would be quite the adventure.

We wish we had more news. Hopefully, we will be able to pass along more information in the very near future.
